CO, content in blood:
Arterial blood contains ~ 48 mls CO2 / 100ml
Venous blood contains ~52 mls CO2 / 100ml
i.e. in the tissues ~4 mL of CO, per 100ml of blood is added (and in the lungs the same amount
discharged into alveoli)

Carbon dioxide is carried in 3 forms.
1. Dissolved
2. Bicarbonate
3. Carbamino compounds
